Dear Friends and Family, December 7, 1990

Greetings to all. Here, I am in Texas visiting Jon Craig and family! Don, Lois and Connie took me to
Chicago's Midway Airport on November 17. It took me only a short time to get to Houston's HOBBY airport
where Jon Craig and Aaron met me. They took me home where Sharon had a delicious supper ready and they
gave me a beautiful bouquet of one dozen deep red roses! My but they were super beautiful! I attended
JC's and Sharon's new church on Sunday. But I will say I like our little church in Iowa much better. I
guess I am just partial to it, OK?

I see on TV that Iowa has a lot of snow and cold. Here it is cool and sunny with a few showers. The
hibiscus plants are blooming so beautifully, just full of blossoms and many buds. Last night, we decided
to extend my vacation down here for one more week - will fly back to Chicago, December 15th. So soon, I
will be leaving for home and snow in good old NE Iowa with Connie, Don and Lois meeting me at Midway.

This has been a lonesome year for all of us without Alvin. He was always near and at times, we felt he
would just come in and join us. As Dad and I talked last summer, we knew the Holy Spirit was with us
always. The Lord must have felt He had shared Alvin with us for a good while. He was the best gift the
Lord ever gave me - I am thankful for his love and some day we will be together again.

The children are all busy with their families and new additions. We are getting to be quite a few. Jim
and Jean's children are raising their children. Kari and Gary Lackore have David and Lindsey, Kristin
and John have their two girls, Tabitha and Tiffany keeping them busy, and Connie and Cliff are busy with
their husky boy, Jacob . Jim and Jean's two boys are Jimmie (2nd year college at UNI) and John (a 6 foot
tall Junior in HS - Cedar Rapids).

Don and Lois have another grand daughter named Kresa. Elizabeth and Richard flew to Korea for her, when
she was about 4 months old. She is all smiles and adorable! She joins Johnathan (3 years old) also from
Korea. Adorable Angela joined Nathan, Karen and Jonathan in January. Signe and Dans' family -Kari,
Debbie and Darren are busy going to school and riding the school bus every day.

Marilyn and Charles have a new grand daughter, Seline Estelle, born to Astrid and Glenn Goloven (Wheaton,
Illinois). Their second daughter, Renee' is studying in Peru and hopefully will be home in Germany with
her parents soon. Charles is a student at the University at Trier, Germany.

Connie was spared a close encounter with the tornado that did so much damage to Crest Hill. Lately,
she has been very busy replanting and fixing damage done to her yard. She teaches 5th grade.

Jon Craig and Sharon have three children, Rachel 15, Aaron 9 and Philip. Philip is 1 year old, is a busy
explorer, and resembles Grandpa Alvin! Rachel is a high school freshman and loves ballet dancing. Aaron
enjoys all kinds of sports and loves to watch the ball games. Craig is busy at AMOCO with his job as
Marine Superintendent and in running his video side-business. Sharon teaches kindergarten in Texas City.

I am trusting the Lord to help me to adjust my life to His leading and feel his guidance each day. This
summer, we had a wonderful family reunion with Alvin's brothers Hillard (and Amy), Sidney (and Edith) and
sister Charlotte and Edgar and nieces and nephews at my home -- over 30 people were there - very nice. I
wrote this all on JC's computer, and I enjoyed doing it. Please forgive any mistakes!

Once again, greetings to you all. I look forward to getting your letters, so please fill my mailbox!
Merry Christmas and happy New Year. Love to all!
